Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Una and I made our attempt on Kilimanjaro during the first week in October. We climbed for four days and reached a height of 4,600m. On the fifth day we prepared for our final assault on the summit. Unexpectedly Una was struck down with altitude sickness and we had to turn back. Our reason for climbing the mountain was to raise money for WaterAid. A child dies every 17 seconds from drinking unsafe water - that's more than 30,000 deaths during our six days on the mountain. Through your generosity we have raised £5,686.23 at the time of writing this. Ban Ki-Moon, UN Secretary General tells us that, for every dollar spent, there will be a $9 return in health. It humbles us to think how much good you have done through your generosity. We thank you most sincerely on behalf of all those who will benefit from your kindness. If there is anyone out there who has not yet sponsored us and would like to do so please donate now and help us to achieve our target of £6000. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
