The Ear Foundation helped fund the first cochlear implants for deaf children in the UK. We now support children, young people & adults who use a variety of modern hearing technologies. Offering independent advice & activites to bridge the gap between clinics where they're fitted and home where used.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Running a half marathon has been a long term dream or goal, and I have thought for years that I would do it for The Ear Foundation.  So as I now find myself with a week to go and it really is too late to be more motivated about my training programme I am seeking your encouragement to keep going!!  I will be running with my sisters Jo & Susannah and Hannah's godmother Beth.  Stephen is running the fun run with Timothy, Bekaleigh & Hannah - pushing the buggy! So thanks for your help.  It will be a great achievement for me if my body doesn't stop.

I was seconded to work for The Ear Foundation for 2 years after Timothy was born.  It is a place I still love and liaise with now I am back working at Nottingham Cochlear Implant Programme.  They work a lot with parents, families and teenagers.  I have run residential teens summer schools, written a junior aged parents language course, and developed parent training packages there.  It is a charity which has a huge practical impact upon families with deaf children.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Ear Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
