We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the NSPCC. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

A group of ten friends and I are competing in the 2005 Fastnet Race aboard "Aurora of London", a 67' steel "Challenge" racing yacht. Starting on Sunday 7th August, the Fastnet is recognised as one of the world's most challenging yacht races. The course of this gruelling 5 day event starts at Cowes, Isle of Wight, then heads along the English Channel, across the Irish Sea, around the Fastnet Rock off the south coast of Ireland and back across the Irish Sea to the finish in Plymouth.

Apart from testing our own limits and battling the elements sailing this large and physically demanding boat, we have decided to raise funds to support the NSPCC.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support, David PS you will be able to keep track of our progress during the race at http://rorc.org/fastnet/results/default.html
