In January 1994 I spent two hours clinging to my upturned kayak in the English Channel at Cuckmere Haven. I got swept round under the cliffs of the Seven Sisters.

Newhaven Lifeboat plucked me from the sea just as I was about to succumb to severe hyperthermia. My family and I will always be extremely  grateful.
