Three Peaks Challenge · 13 May 2009

Wisdom Hospice Charity supports the work of the only adult hospice serving Medway and Swale in Kent. It makes an annual grant to Medway Community Healthcare of £600,000 towards hospice running costs. In addition it provides extra equipment and facilities that fall outside the MCH budget.

Story

Thank you for visiting the fundraising page of the Medway Tactical Unit of Kent Police.

Please help us raise much needed funds for THE FRIENDS OF WISDOM HOSPICE & HELP FOR HEROES CHARITIES.

5 officers from Medway Police Station are attempting to complete the Nationally recognised event named the Three Peaks Challenge. They will be accompanied by members of the local Territorial Army.

The National Three Peaks challenge has become a well known challenge amongst the more adventurous fund raisers. The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks, respectively, in England, Wales and Scotland in 24 hours. The peaks are:

Scafell Pike (978m)

Snowdon (1085m)

Ben Nevis (1344m)

The total distance by foot is approx 27.5 miles. Completing the challenge in the 24 hour period is both physically and mentally challenging. Ascending and descending in the dark, combined with the travelling from peak to peak drains energy and deprives the climbers of sleep.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Friends of The Wisdom Hospice / Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
