Based in Manchester, MedEquip4Kids improves the health of babies and children in the UK by providing equipment not available from limited NHS resources. Because we value all aspects of children’s wellbeing, we also deliver workshops in schools to support young people’s mental health.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Challenge and the Cause:

The Megahike Challenge is a 50 mile team race, hiking across the Pennines, starting at 4.30am with the aim to be the fastest team to the finish and also to try and complete the course before the sun sets that evening (approx 9pm). Within the 50 miles there is also a 7500ft ascent to complete for good measure.

Without really comprehending the scale of the challenge, four of us, keen to test our mental and physical capabilities, have entered a team to take on this challenge.

The charity supporting the event is MedEquip4Kids which is a children’s charity raising money to provide paediatric medical equipment and facilities for hospitals and community health teams.

Their aim is to help ensure babies, children and teenagers receive the best possible care when sick or injured, something we all feel is a fantastic cause and could be a huge support for any of our own or our relatives children at any time in the future.

We would appreciate your help in raising the required money for us to be able to enter this challenge which we fully intend to win, but in reality may be just pleased just to finish. As an example, last year 25% of teams that started didnt finish and one team took 28.5hrs to complete the course.

So please dig deep and donate now to see us endure a double marathon hike and to support the worthy childrens charity

Thank you!

Paul, Gemma, Dave & Mike
