Our Story

It’s difficult to know where it all started, but I think for me it was when my son decided that he wanted to ride through and over thePyrenees.  Having seen him dust down his old bike and the poor state it was in, it soon became clear he needed a new one. Being the caring thoughtful father, ( I hope he is reading this!) I offered to go halves with him as long as I could ride it when he got back. My loving Son thought it was a good idea that I paid half, but was quick to respond that he thought I would never ride it!

Well I am fast approaching 50 and being almost two stone over weight, I could see his point. But I wasn’t going to back down from that challenge – Little So and So!  My thoughts soon extended to who else I could rope into this and Peter sprang to mind!

Peter has also had the privilege of passing through the 50’s barrier and like myself is carrying an extra pound or two.  My first ride out was horrendous, we did an 11 mile ride and I thought I was going to die. Peter looked how I felt.

We have now done a few charity rides, Peter has lost 3 stone and I have only lost a stone, so I assume my metabolisium is much better at adjusting!!  - Ha Ha or it could be down to work rate. I take my hat off to Peter he has really risen to the challenges.  Somewhere along the way we came up with the idea to do Lands End to John O’Groats, which is about a 1000 miles.

Peter’s daughter Chloe is actively involved with Conductive Education and introduced us to Megan Baker House (www.meganbakerhouse.org.uk).  Having heard and seen some of the excellent work they do, we were overwhelmed and keen to help.

Megan Baker House is a fantastic cause and I applaud you all to dig deep and support us.

Thank - You
