Leeds 10K Run For All · 22 June 2008 ·

There is a desperate need to tackle oral disease, infection and chronic pain throughout the developing world - to enable people to work, attend school and care for families. We teach skills that mean local people are able to function free from pain, and avoid preventable infections and diseases.

Story

*Update 23/6/08* I did it! My first 10K was completed in 1h 11m 31s, with only a little bit of enforced walking at crowded points. I was 5060 in a field of 12000! I am really chuffed to finish, and to get close to my 70 minute target. I even managed to sprint to the finish line! I now feel I can call myself a runner. Not too many aches today, looking forward to running them off later in the week, and starting to plan the next event so I can beat my PB!

Following the power-walking marathon last year I had a sudden idea that I could run. Ok, so not a marathon, but a 10K (6.2 miles). It still seems pretty far to me! This time I am running for Bridge2Aid, a dental charity in Africa, one that my practice Wetherby Orthodontics is currently supporting.
