In March 2004, and with 3 young children, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy followed, which wasn't pleasant.

I've never been a serious runner - more of an infrequent jogger, and the furthest I have ever run in an event is 10K. I am taking this run very seriously and really, really want to do it in 2 hours. It will push me harder than I've ever been pushed before, but I still have my life and my health which, tragically, many others don't.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer does fantastic work, constantly looking into new treatments and how to prevent the disease in future.
