Story
Not content with the challenge of running the London Marathon in April, I've now decided to attempt the Three Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in 24 hours as part of an event aiming to raise money for my school, Sandringham School, and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The aim is the raise £25,000 between the 120 staff, parents and students of Sandringham School completing the challenge. The more sensible ones are doing it in 48-72 hours but I, along with three strapping lads, are taking on the tougher challenge of completing the entire walk (and drive between the mountains) within 24 hours.
The Three Peaks challenge will involve:
o 14-16 hours of physical exercise
o 3,000m of vertical climbing
o Walking distance of nearly 24 miles
o Approximately 8,300 calories burned
The money raised will be split between the world renowned Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital who will receive 20% of all donations and the not so world renowned 'Friends of Sandringham School' (FOSS) which is the charity group that raises funds to benefit students at my school. .
If you want to check out the 'parent' web site for this event please visit http://www.justgiving.com/sandringham3peaks where you will be able to see just how much other money has been raised so far, for this event.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends of Sandringham School and GOSH will receive your money faster and, if you are a
taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support
