Thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit this page. I am taking part in the 2008 Shamwari Game Reserve Challenge Walk in November to raise funds for the Born Free Foundation. Those who know me will know that I have a huge passion for wildlife conservation, and in particular the big cats (the picture is of me, last year in Kenya, at the happiest moment of my life as I stroked a beautiful orphan cheetah). The challenge involves walking 80Km across the conservation award-winning Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa. I will be camping out and learning survival and ranger skills whilst putting myself through a reasonably gruelling trek. I will also have the chance to visit the two rescue and education centres that Born Free have within the reserve. I am hoping to say a personal hello to one of the rescued lions I sponsor (see the Born Free website for Sinbad's story) and the three leopard triplets I recently added to my adopted family. I have personally pledged £2000 in order that my costs for taking part in the event are covered, so every penny that you choose to donate/sponsor me for will go directly to the Born Free Foundation. Please help me to raise valuable funds to help stop animal suffering, keep wild animals in the wild and conserve a future for them. Please visit the Born Free website for more information about the valuable work they do - www.bornfree.org.uk. Thank you so much. One last thing, if I get eaten by a lion then I would like everyone to double their pledge! Mel Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Born Free Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
