Hi everyone..... thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
Sooooo I have signed up for a 600 mile bike ride to Berlin with the Leeds University RAG (Raise and Give) society, which is a volunteering society who organise tonnes of projects to raise money for charity. The 'Bike to Berlin' project is just one of many!! I'll probably thoroughly regret this when the day arrives due to the sheer amount of cycling, sweating and even more sweating I'll be doing.... however it's for an amazing charity, MS Society, and any donations from you will make a mahusive difference!!
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but it can affect younger and older people too. MS sufferers are affected on a daily basis, so are often not able to carry out normal activities like the rest of us due to vision and balance problems, dizziness, fatigue and stiffness. The condition can also have a damaging effect on mental health and speech.
March 19th 2012 is our start date, and we have just 8 days to pedal across Europe; setting off from Leeds, getting the ferry from Hull over to Rotterdam, and then moving on down towards the land of beer and sausages. The average distance per day is apparently around 70 miles.... what am I doing!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out and donate, even if it's just a small amount. Surely the idea of me collapsing at a German roadside is incentive enough! Oh and the fact that I won't be able to walk for week. So you can have a laugh at me whilst knowing you're doing a great thing for charity. THANK YOU!!!!!
