Bowel and Cancer Research

35,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year – it’s the 2nd biggest cancer killer. Thousands more will have to face life with a stoma as a result of surgery.We want more people to survive bowel cancer by investigating what initiates it and causes it to spread (metastasise) to produce better diagnostic techniques and therapies. Our research also covers other bowel diseases, such as Colitis and Crohn’s Disease and through pioneering surgical techniques we aim to enable sufferers to live free of a stoma.

The MEN OF OAKE have decided to complete the arduous

50 Mile Trek Around the Dartmoor Perambulation

The perambulation marks the boundary of the ancient forest of the moor and is one of the oldest and toughest walks on Dartmoor.

The Men Of Oake consisting mainly of Oake residents aim to complete the circular route over 2 days with one overnight camping stop in Princetown.

The trek will be completed over the weekend 25^th & 26^th July 2009.

We really need you help to raise our fundraising target of £5000, so please sponsor us now!
