Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, and taking the time to read it.

My name is Meyrick , I am 33 years old and live in Barnsley South Yorkshire.

My grandad suffered with Parkinsons disease for many years, so I saw first hand how he lived with it,  and how with the love and support from my nan and also his  children and grandchildren, he was able to be cared for in his own home.  He had a fantastic sense of humour,  which he never lost, and he always loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren to tell them stories about the past.  Unfortunately my grandad passed away, he touched so many peoples lives and will never be forgotten.

I decided I would like to try raise as much  money as I possibly can for The Parkinsons Disease Society, by doing an half marathon, which is in Sheffield, May 20th 2007.  I haven't run since leaving school, and so I'm currently dedicated to my training, which is hard, but I know will be worth it.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Please donate generously.

Many thanks for your support.
