LeJoG 2007 · 17 January 2007

The Epilepsy Research Institute’s mission is to radically advance research for the #Onein100 people living with epilepsy. A life free from epilepsy is possible. But only through research We need energetic, adventurous and creative people like you to help us raise vital funds for epilepsy research!

Story

We finished our ride on Friday 22nd June, after 940 miles we arrived at John O' Groats to be greeted by family and friends. We are over our target of £5000, thank you everybody who has supported and sponsored us for this special event!!!!

on the 8th February 2006, Ellen Mezzetti died in her sleep from epilepsy aged 16. Ellen leaves behind her parent’s John and Lynne and two brothers’ Jack and Henry. They have all spent the last year coming to terms with their tragic loss. This will obviously continue throughout there lives and to there credit they’re doing this with great dignity.

Ellen is an integral part of the Mezzetti and Facey family and will never be forgotten.

A memorial fund has been set up in memory of Ellen. They have already raised £600 by holding a charity rounder’s match in August 2006, about 100 people took part including family and friends. Cromer High School held a performance which Ellen was due to star in. this was held in memory of Ellen.

On June 16th 2007 Joey Mezzetti, Andy Kett, Rob Bacon, Mark Claxton and Mat Willimot are all cycling from lands End to John O Groats. They will cover approximately 1000 miles over 7 days, averaging 140 miles per day. This will be supported by two drivers in a camper van. The tour is funded by the cyclists and all money raised will go into the Ellen Mezzetti memorial fund.

As we enter the month of June the final training sessions are completed and we now hope we have done enough to get us all through the 150 miles per day. We have each trained for about 180 hours on the saddle covering over 3000 miles. One member has dropped out due to the high demands of the training needed to cover the distance leaving Joey, Andy, Rob and Mark to push the limits!!! Wish us luck!!

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
