With the current global food shortage it is estimated that 1 billion people in the world go hungry each night. Already somewhere in the world a person starves to death every 3.6 seconds and 3/4 of them are children under the age of five.
Almost 1/5 of the world’s population (approx 1.32 billion people) live in areas where water is scarce. Lack of clean drinking water and sanitation leads to water borne infections and even death.
This year we have seen unprecedented number of countries been affected whether by natural disasters as in South Asia or the dire humanitarian disaster in Africa.
