Dragon Boat Festival, Willen Lake, Milton Keynes · 17 March 2009

We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

Hello, and thank you for visiting the MIB-BLM Dragon Boat Just Giving page.

As a joint venture, The Motors Insurers' Bureau and Berrymans Lace Mawer will be battling it out against each other in canoe style dragon boats in order to raise funds for Willen Hospice, together with Milton Keynes Multiple Sclerosis and The Children's Trust.

Dragon Boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition going as far back as 2000 years.  Each crew will consist of 16 members with a drummer to keep the all important momentum going at full speed!

The sponsored event will take place at Willen  Lake, Milton Keynes on Sunday 28 June 2009, starting at 9:30am and will be watched by several thousand spectators as the teams battle it out over the 250m race course.

The names of the crews are:

Most Impressive Boaters (MIB)

Totally Quackers (BLM)

Both crews are presently training hard at the gym for the event (?!) and may the best crew win!  Feel free to join the crowds and cheer the crews on!

We would really appreciate it if you would help us get to our target figure by sponsoring the crews.

Thank you

Most Impressive Boaters and Totally Quackers!!!
