On the 15th of May 2011 I will be doing the Great Manchester Run for Adoption Matters NorthWest.
As many of you who know me will know I am an adopted child and I am incredibly proud of that, I was adopted 26 years ago to a fantastic family and I am very lucky to have two great parents, two brothers and a sister who have made me one of their own. Adoption Matters NorthWest are the organisation who helped me find the great life and upbringing that I have enjoyed and I am doing this to give just a little bit back. Adoption Matters Northwest themselves are a specialist voluntary adoption agency providing a comprehensive range of services to all those whose lives have been touched by adoption. That includes adoptive parents, people who have been adopted and birth parents and their families. Other than the obvious reason that I need to get into some sort of shape, this is the main reason I am doing this run as without Adoption Matters North West I wouldn't be the rather sarcastic but lively chap I am today. This is very close to my heart so any help and donations received are valued more than you could possibly know.. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. As the meerkat would say - simples.
