Water of Life Half Marathon · 25 March 2012

The Childrens Arthritis Trust supports Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College Hospital London to improve the care and treatment of children and young people with arthritis. Our goal is to strengthen the medical team by the provision of dedicated specialists in nursing and physiotherapy; and support staff to enable doctors to administer new and novel treatments to better manage the disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Michael and I (Simon) will be running the Water of Life Half Marathon on 25th March 2012...just a few weeks time!!

http://www.purplepatchrunning.com/races/water-of-life-half-marathon

It will be my first ever half marathon and therefore a huge challenge both physically and mentally! We both decided that we would like to use this opportunity to raise money for our chosen charity - Children's Arthritis Trust.

We have both seen first hand within our families what impact arthritis can have on both young and older relatives. The courage and determination of the of those close to us has made us realise this is a way of saying 'thank you' and 'keep smiling' whilst raising money for a very good cause (not to mention the blisters and moaning I will be doing whilst running all that way!!)

However, to encourage you even further in handing over your lovely money, Michael along with his sister Helen, and bother in law Matt have also decided to embark on a Ultra marathon just a few weeks after this one, in South Africa where he will run approx. 34 miles(56K)!! Madness!!

http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za/

So, not only do we aim to feel fitter, look fitter and sweat far too much.... we also hope you will dig deep and make a donation for our efforts. You can donate via our webpage and we have also set up a Text Donation option where you can donate £2 by simply texting SIMI60 £2 to 70070

So please dig deep!! Thank you xx Simon (Pieman) and Michael

x
