Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friends Paul and Jenny McMillan’s son Blake was born with a rare condition, MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome, affecting only 150 people worldwide (although it is now thought to affect many more).
Research into this condition needs funded by friends and family as there is no government funding. There are many very exciting studies waiting to funded which have the potential to cure MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome, and at the very least, alleviate some of the brutal symptoms of this rare genetic abnormality.
Fundraising is being done via Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK, who send the money directly to the MeCP2 Duplication Fund at RSRT, where 100% of this money will go into research for MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome.
In order for this beautiful wee boy to have the best possible life his parents have been doing some fantastic work in raising awareness of this condition and also fundraising. I have decided to do my bit. I will be cycling in the Fresh n lo Pedal for Scotland Challenge – 47 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh. I will do this without stopping and hope to complete it in 4 hours. I will pedal my heart out so please give generously.
