Story
My great friend and business partner of many years Alastair Gordon Cumming and several of his family unfortunately ate some very poisonous mushrooms last September, which has caused severe Kidney problems. The care and attention they have received from the Doctors and Nurses of the NHS in Aberdeen and Elgin has been outstanding and in order to help a little I have decided to try to raise some money for KIDNEY RESEARCH UK.
To do this I plan to walk from Edale in Derbyshire to Alytre (Alastair's Home) in Moray a distance of approximately 500 miles. I plan to walk up the Pennine Way, which runs to just south of the Scottish boarder (260 miles) then across to Glasgow, up the West Highland Way to Fort William (93 miles) and then up the Great Glen to Inverness (73 miles) and then on to Altyre which is just outside Forres.
I plan to leave Edale at the Southern end of the Pennine Way on Monday 20th April. I hope to reach the boarders in approx three weeks. I will then take a break and will return to do the Scottish leg in mid September.
As you may imagine this is all taking a lot of planning and I will be relying on the help of my family and friends to support me.
I will try to keep in contact with all donors to let you know how I am progressing.
Thank you for reading this and visiting my fundraising page, please pray for good weather at the end of April!
