After many years of pie eating and salad swerving, I have decided to undertake a change in lifestyle ( to a certain extent!) and run the Great North Run on 20th September 2009. 

 

It now a little under 3 weeks to go, the training has gone well with me completing a couple of 10.5 miles and more importantly feeling ok at the end of them.  The Pies are out for now, and as of last night i'm off the beer until after the race - something to get me to South Shields quicker if nothing else!  Thanks to everyone who has donated.

I have decided to run for Help for Heroes, not only have Help for Heroes raising money to build a new Hydrotherapy Pool at Headley Court, which is where the wounded from all the Services are helped to rehabilitate following injury, theye are are also assisting other forces charities, such Combat Stress, as well as helping with the development of a relatives house at Selly Oak Hospital, where the injured from Afghanistan and Iraq are treated immediately following their return.  More information can be found on www.helpforheroes.org
