Story

Alas my pulled calf muscle got the better of me in the end and I have had to stop training for the 10k run. Not wanting to give up my efforts to raise funds for the Seashell Trust altogether I have decided to divert to another fantastic challenge the Seashell Trust is holding in June - so instead of huffing and puffing 10k around Manchester I shall be clenching my buttocks as I first abseil 60 metres down the side of Baitings Dam near Huddersfield THEN tackle a 200 metre zipwire from the same scary feat of engineering.

To everyone who has already sponsored me for the 10k can I say a HUGE thank you for your kindness and generosity. And can I ask, if you are willing to uphold your pedges for my abseil and zipwire attempts instead of the 10k run, could you please drop me a quick email to say you are happy to do this as the Seashell Trust needs everything to be above board and fully accountable. Thanks and sorry to be a pain!

As a parent of an autistic child myself I know only too well how incredible places like the Seashell Trust are. My own son is able to attend mainstream school but many kids need more specialist care and the work done by the Seashell Trust is amazing and inspirational. I was there only today watching one young man work with donkeys, leading them, grooming and hoof picking them and having the time of his life.

I would appreciate your support, no matter how small and I know it's hard for us all to dig deep, especially at the moment when everyone is watching the pennies - but in difficult economic times charities like the Seashell Trust suffer as donations fall so every little helps.

Thank you so much for visiting my page - pictures of me looking glamourous as I whizz down ropes this June will be posted on Facebook and sent to everyone to see me in all my glory.
