Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
This page has been set up in memory of my late husband Matty Newall, who passed away on the 27 April 2008. Matty was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2007 and was initially refused treatment due to the severity of his condition. Matty obtained a second opinion at Christie’s hospital in Manchester and they agreed to undertake a course of chemotherapy, the decision was made based on his family commitments and him being so young. Through the support and hope received from Christie’s, Matty went on to enjoy a further six months with me and his 3 children, whilst maintaining as good a quality of life as possible.
Christie's do some amazing work day in day out through research and the care they provide. I would like to help raise as much money as possible to help them continue this work and I am grateful to all donations that are pledged.
I have planned activities to help achieve the 2nd revised target (first two we smashed) of £150,000 and I will be using this page to keep everyone updated on these. Next big event coming up is The Manchester 10K in May.....not quite the London Marathon I did last year(sadly I did not get a place this year) so to make up for the slight difference in miles I will be aiming to push myself to achieve a time of under 60 mins!!!!
I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last 20 months. I could not have achieved half the things I have since Matty passed without this & the continued support of my friends..
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Christie's will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
Shelly
