Yep, I'm running it again. It seemed like a good idea when I entered the ballot, but not so great once the confirmation came through that I had a place!
This year I am hoping to raise lots of money for a charity close to my heart - Over The Wall. As some of you will know, for the past 2 summers I have volunteered at a residential summer camp for seriously ill children, which is run by OTW. Having been to the camps, I am very keen to raise money so that more children can experience all that it has to offer. The children who will benefit from this money are those that spend lots of their life in and out of hospital. This camp allows them to mix in a fun environment with children in similar situations. Over the course of the week they try many activities from kayaking, archery, rock climbing, swimming etc and it's amazing to watch how their confidence grows. The best thing about camp is watching the kids be kids again, just enjoying themselves and forgetting about all their problems.
For this reason, I would love to raise £2,000 - this is how much it costs to send two children to camp for a week. So, please give as much as you can afford....check out the website too to see exactly where the money will go.... www.otw.org.uk
On a separate note, if anyone is around in London that weekend, I would really appreciate your support. Last time I ran I had someone at every mile marker, this was undoubtably the only thing that kept me going, so thank you all for that.
