We work in North-East communities to fund projects that enrich lives and end poverty. By partnering with local businesses and donors, we are growing a Foundation that will meet the changing needs of our communities for years to come.

Story

The Mick Danby Music Fund is held by the County Durham Community Foundation and grants will be jointly managed by the Foundation, and me (Teresa). Mick had a great talent for singing, and he wanted this fund to be his legacy to singers across the whole of the north east. He started off the fund himself with £5000, and so far your generous donations have increased that to over £7000.00. Thank you!

Grants will be available to singing groups and choirs of all sizes, and individual singers in those groups. The fund may also support new singing opportunities - especially for people who (due to a health condition, for example) may find it difficult to access what's currently available.

The Mick Danby Music Fund has so far supported the Sing for Life open access choir, based in Spennymoor in Durham, and the MAD (Making a Difference!) Community Choir based in Newton Aycliffe.
