Climb is the National Information and Advice Centre for Metabolic Diseases and is the only charity in the UK to provide advice, information and support to children, young adults, families and professionals affected by metabolic diseases. Climb also funds research into these devastating diseases.

My story

About the Midlife Cyclists

A group of normal, confused, middle-aged men & women, from Manchester, UK rode from Munster to Berlin in July 2008 (approximately 710km) in order to raise awareness for the charity CLIMB – the UK's only dedicated organisation to provide information and support on all metabolic diseases to children, adults, families, carers and professionals.

None of us have any regular experience cycling any great distances. We had never cycled together before, never trained before & never really fixed a bike. In fact, some have only just got bikes!

Having succesfully reached Berlin in various states of collapse, we have already begun planning future challenges and adventures and would like to give you the opportunity to be a part of that by donating to charity along the way.

Our website (www.midlifecyclists.org) is a central point for us to communicate with each other and share experiences, tips & advice. We will be leaving updates as to our progress, as a group and as individuals, so feel free to visit our site regularly. If you also find it of use or have any advice, encouragement or would be interested in sponsoring our efforts, then please feel free to leave a comment in the guest book.
