Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.
We must be mad! We're about to embark on an 8 mile midnight walk around Ipswich in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice and really need your support. We're wanting to help raise enough money to make a difference to this worthwhile charity which helps care for and support individuals and their families during incredibly difficult and life changing circumstances. We can't believe we're actually mad enough to leave our warm and cosy beds at this hideous hour of the night..... What on earth are we thinking?!?!??! ....
....BUT...
We're doing it for a great worthwhile cause.
In 2008, Mel's
dad was diagnosed with CJD
(Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease), a rare and always
fatal brain disorder showing remarkable similarities to Altziemers, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsons. From point of noticing changes in his behaviour and appearance to his death was a mere three months, demonstrating how rapid a deterioration CJD can be. During the latter stages of his illness, he was admitted to St Elizabeth Hospice where an incredible level of support, compassion and care was given both to him and to Mel and her family. They work endlessly and tirelessly providing round the clock care to all that require their help.
Since his death in May 2008, Mel's family have become committed to helping raise as much funds as possible into finding a cure. However on this occasion, Mel wants to help support St Elizabeth Hospice for the care they gave her family. She just wants to give a bit back to them!! And with your help she can do that. They rely so heavily on donations and fund raising so that their remarkable care can continue.
So, even if it's just a quid, it all adds up. So please sponsor us now and help us support St Elizabeth Hospice in being able to carry on their worthwhile work.
Thankyou, xxx
