Zara, Isobel and Kat's Mighty Hike

Thames Path Mighty Hike 2018 · 9 June 2018 ·
Over the last 2 years, the Macmillan charity has been of enormous significance in the lives of Katherine, Isobel and Zara.
In 2015, Vivienne (Zara’s mother), was diagnosed with breast cancer. Not only providing tremendous comfort, support and understanding for the whole family, Macmillan gave vital information, advice and funding to ensure that the family and Vivienne were well looked after and taken care of during their time of need. Sadly, Vivienne lost her battle to cancer in November 2017. In a bewilderment of hospitals, medicine and grief, without Macmillan, Vivienne wouldn’t have been able to stay in the comfort of her own home for as long as she did, nor would she have found peace of mind that things would be taken care of, and her family supported, when the time came.
In October of 2017, Kat's mother (Claire) received another tragic diagnosis. Once again, Macmillan have provided Claire with copious amounts of compassion, love and support to her and her family. She continues to fight and is doing amazingly with her treatment, coping with both dignity and grace.
Having known each other from school, both Kat and Isobel have walked through the struggles of the past 2 years by Zara’s and her family side and the same will be done for Kat through the inevitable trials and tribulations she and her family are to face.
On the 9th of June, Kat, Isobel and Zara are embarking on a 26 mile hike along the Thames Valley Path, from Windsor to Henley, as so many are affected by, or know someone who is affected by, cancer.
No matter how small the donation, please help us to raise money for Macmillan to allow them to continue their life changing work for the families and loved ones who are impacted by this prevalent disease. Thank you.
