I lost my dear father 3 years ago to heart failure. he had a triple bypass at John Radcliff hosp which helped him live 14 years longer .His illness inspired me to change my life style some years ago. I have been running in many charity events and always talk to him in mind when the going gets tough in a race . I really wish he could have through, drugs, diet, exercise, or education made his heart as strong as mine is now. I remember how devastated he, myself and the family were when we told by the consultant that my dad had only about 1 year left to live I could not believe there was not some fix for his valves and heart I researched hundreds of articles in vain we need to get more innovative and educated help to strengthen this key organ. I have been running now for 2 years and I would love for him to know what I am doing now.
