Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had been thinking about doing a charitable challenge for some time and finally plucked up the courage to do one. Finally, on October 20th, 13 strangers set off from Heathrow to Peru to walk the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Nine days later, we all returned to Heathrow as great friends after an incredible experience. The trek was challenging but hugely rewarding and along the way there was a lot of laughter and tears.
I am pleased to say I completed the challenge and the money I raise will go to the MU Foundation who support three fantastic charities:
UNICEF - working with children and communities across the globe including those living in poverty, often with no access to education and at risk from exploitation.
FRANCIS HOUSE - a children's hospice that offers the families of terminally ill children a respite from their role as carers and gives the children a loving home from home.
CHRISTIE'S - one of Europe's leading cancer treatment centres and an International leader in cancer research and development. The aim is to raise money to recruit full time therapists to work with young cancer patients and help them lead as normal a life as possible.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So I hope you will support me and my chosen charities on this challenge and I appreciate any donation you make.
Cheers
Mike
