In  a moment of weakness last year, I agreed to cycle across the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast (~420 miles). This sounds acceptable unless you look at the sawtooth profile of 11,500m of mountains to be crossed (equivalent to climbing Everest 1.5x times) and the fact that it has to be completed in 100 hours.

I have trained for 9 months so far and completed several thousands of miles training and will start the trip on June 9th 2009.

From my suffering I wanted to create some benefit to help the Alexander Devine childrens cancer trust. This little boy was in my eldest daughter Avril's nursery school class until his illness took hold. His parents wanted to set up a childrens hospice to serve Berkshire and any money I raise will go towards this worthwhile cause. Thank you so much for your help, support and donation.
