After 5 hours and 14 minutes of fun, pain, swearing, more pain, energy packs and the odd bit of dancing to rave sounds, I managed to finish all 26 ¼ miles of the Berlin Marathon in just about one piece. Not the quickest marathon ever – but I’m definitely proud of this achievement. My brother Steve was an amazing running companion (yes he stayed with me throughout the whole thing) and kept me going (well mostly going) for the whole distance. There is plenty of time for catching up and stories, but I’ll answer a few questions I’ve been asked since:
No – you’re right, it’s not a particularly fast time!
Yes - I will probably get some photos up on my flickr account as soon as they have all been identified and purchased. No - it would probably take a great cause for me to consider doing another one.
Yes – Steve could have probably knocked about an hour off his time if he left me!Yes - I am very proud of this achievement and all the money that you have helped me to raise.
You are all amazing people and the money you have donated will definitely change people’s lives. I’m genuinely humbled by your generosity and support.
Thank you again for everything and I look forward to telling you all about it over a beer soon!
Mikee x
