Story
On July 4th I am off to the Alps to climb Mont Blanc with 3 friends (Al Outhwaite, Jonny Harris, Paul Carter). It is 4,808m high and is Europe’s highest mountain so it is quite a daunting prospect. Having only walked a few hills in the Lake District before, this certainly represents a big challenge for me and I am definitely out of my comfort zone!!
It also is 10 years since my Mum died of ovarian cancer and I wanted to try to raise some money for Compton Hospice where Mum spent her last few days. Mum was a great person and a huge loss to me, my family and many friends when she passed away at a relatively young age of 54.
Compton Hospice is a fantastic local hospice based in Wolverhampton and does make a real difference to terminally ill patients – it relies heavily on donations and any money raised would help other patients receive the brilliant care my Mum received.
Thank you for your support - I am going to need it!!
