My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Our dearly beloved son and brother Ali was tragically run over and killed on May 7th 2006.  He had just clebrated his 18th birthday five weeks before his death and was enjoying life to the full.

We originally set out to raise £2000, enough money to buy one well to provide clean, safe drinking water for a village in Africa which would not only help to save lives, but would also be a lasting memorial to Ali.

The support of the public has been fantastic, which has meant we have gone on to raise almost £6,000 and have been able to afford four wells and six boreholes.

We hope to rasie even more.  We will be running a series of fundraising events, but would also welcome your donations via this page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Self Help Africa gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
