Mike's doing 'The Great South Run' !

Story
Lordy! if someone can explain to me what the hell I'm doing here I would very much value your insight... so I'm clearly losing my mind, and having some kind of midlife crisis at the same time.. which has somehow culminated in me doing 'The Great South Run'.. not sure how it happened, but now I need your money..
The chosen charity is Cancer Research UK, which believe it or not I've been supporting for a few years now, with the old standing order thingamy (yeah, I don't like to talk about it etc.)....
The 'race' (let's call it a 'slog') is happening on the 22nd of October and snakes around my adopted home city of Portsmouth. The 'slog' will be 10 miles in length, and should I manage to keep my lungs somewhere in the vicinity of my chest I aim to finish it in *cough* hours.... dependant on weather, cramp, breathlessness, presence of St John's Ambulance and if I manage to hang on to my sight after the first 100 metres...
Therefore if you would be kind enough to sponsor me some of your hard earned currency, I will promise to supply lots of pictures of me in, what's referred to by physical training instructors as, 'a right state'... which you'll all no doubt find hugely funny...
Come on then, cough up! I need your cash! it's for a good cause....
