Ten riders from Kent have set themselves the goal of riding across France, from the Channel to the Mediterranean, in a week during the summer of 2009: A Travers La France - Across France, Coast-to-Coast.

They will be starting in Dieppe in July and riding across the country north to south, taking in the Massif Central and Le Mont Ventoux before finishing in Marseille seven days later.

THE STAGES

Stage 1: Dieppe to Charleval 77.5 km - 11th July
Stage 2: Charleval to Chartres 141 km - 12th July
Stage 3: Chartres to Bourges 163 km - 13th July
Stage 4: Bourges to Clermont Ferrand 208 km - 14th July
Stage 5: Clermont Ferrand to Le Puy-en-Velay 176 km - 15th July
Stage 6: Le Puy-en-Velay to Caromb 181 km - 16th July
Stage 7: Caromb to Marseille (over Le Mont Ventoux, Bedoin side) 175 km - 17th July
