Story
Thanks for visiting my Great South Run fundraising page. To those of you who are not aware, our third daughter, Isabel, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, on her second birthday, in 2007. Thankfully, it was established, relatively quickly, that she had been misdiagnosed. But for what seemed like a very long 48 hours, Ange and I attempted to prepare ourselves for the prospect of fighting Cystic Fibrosis for the life of our daughter. It all sounds a bit dramatic, reading that back, but I guess it was just that - dramatic and emotional! However, in an attempt not to dwell on what could have been, we are channeling our energy into raising funds to help others with the life or death battle we so nearly started against CF. To that end, I will be attempting to complete the Great South Run on Sunday 26th October. It's only 10 miles I hear you cry (especially you Royal Navy types!), but the truth is I have never run further that 5 ½ miles and that was in the Glastonbury Road Race in 1984! Donating through this website, Justgiving, is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure that 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please, take a minute and sponsor me now!
