Story
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for visiting our fund raising page.
So, 24 Peaks, 33 miles, 13,000 feet of climbing (21,000 feet accent and decent), and all to be completed in 24 hours! That's the 24 Peaks Challenge; one of the most demanding charity events in the UK. Our team will be taking on this challenge in the magnificent Lake District over the weekend of 19 July 2008.
Our team consists of Graham Willoughby, Steve Ferrett, Mike Barnes and Jason Sherwood, with the later three walking and Graham in tactical support. This is a really tough event and we have a rigorous training programme in place to give ourselves the best chance of completing the challenge and hopefully within 24 hours.
The RNLI are our chosen charity and our target is to raise £5000 from donations. To make donating easy we have set up a Just Giving account; all you have to do is click on the link above to make your donation. Thanks.
Please sponsor us generously. The RNLI are grossly under funded and receive no help from the government. Any amount of donation will help fund this 24hour, 365 days per year service and listed below are just some of the items that your donations will contribute to;
- £20 - will buy a pair of gloves for a lifeboat crewmember
- £40 - will buy a pair of crewmember's boots
- £200 - will buy a pair of protective trousers
- £240 - will buy a jacket for a crewmember
- £180 - will buy a safety helmet for a crewmember
- £500 - will buy a lifejacket
- £245 - will buy a first aid kit
- £350 - will a buy drysuit (boots included)
- £90 - will buy a thermal suit
So, when your sunning yourself on one of Britain’s beautiful beaches this summer or bathing in our tropical waters you will feel safe in the knowledge that you may have helped pay for the services of the RNLI life guard keeping you safe on holiday.
Thanks in advance.
