My story

STOP PRESS UPDATE -  Following hard in the footsteps of Haile Gebrselassie (well about two hours later) Dale completed the run on 20 May and was still in one piece at the end. Many many thanks to all those who have generously supported us and helped beat the target we had set. There is more money to post on this site from cash donations and we think the total raised will exceed £1200.

STOP PRESS - Dale is running in the BUPA Great Manchester Run 2012 on 20th May. We would be very grateful for your support.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a sufferer from kidney cancer I am acutely aware of the importance of research to give the physicians and surgeons the tools to help save lives and also improve quality of life.

I also have a number of friends and acquaintances who have suffered a variety of kidney diseases, some of whom are going through kidney transplants during 2009/2010.

With the help of my daughter Dale I aim to raise at least £1000 before the end of 2012 both as a thank you for the surgeons who dealt with my cancer but also to help those with kidney disease in the future. Dale is joining me to provide the physical input for walks, runs and other events while I will do what I can to raise money through less energetic means as I also suffer from long term spinal condition.

Don't feel you have to wait until there's an event on - please give now and your gift will go straight to Kidney Research UK.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please feel free to dig deep and donate now!

Thank you so much.
