Willow is the only UK charity supporting seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds by providing unique and positive Special Days. Since 1999 Willow has fulfilled more than 23,500 Special Days for young adults living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and cystic fibrosis.

Story

After many years of constant nagging by my friends to run the London Marathon, sleep under Waterloo Station, hike across the Brecon Beacons, climb Mount Everest, drive across the USA... I have at last decided to do a feat for charity.

I'm taking some annual leave on June 27 to play five rounds of golf, in 24 hours, around Brocket Hall Golf Course, without the aid of a buggy but with someone carrying my clubs.  For those non-golfers amongst you, I promise you this won't be easy.  It's about 30 miles if you hit the ball in a straight line and I don't always do that, so I will probably travel around 40 miles on the day.  Plus, I usually take somewhere between 80 - 85 shots a round, which will mean something over 400 shots on the day. And remember, I'm a considerably overweight 46 year old !

The proceeds from this site will go to Willow Foundation, supported by Brocket Hall, which gives young adults living with life-threatening conditions a chance to escape the pressures of their daily routine and share quality time with family or friends.

If you would like to sponsor me - and  I promise not to ask again for at least 5 years, perhaps never - there are a number of ways you can do it.

Just give me some money for having a go
A donation for every hole completed, up to the 90
A donation for every shot less than 500 - I will complete every hole!

Donate any of the above to the tune of £100 or more and you'll be invited to the Champagne Reception to see me complete the final round.

Best of all, why not offer to take me on! I will play against one person for each of the 18 holes. The five highest bidders will get to play with me, the highest bidder playing the last round and the 5th highest to tee-off on the first round at about 4.30am.

You can also donate to become a caddy.  I'm looking for 10 caddies, two per round but it will cost you for the privilege! If you want to be a caddy contact Sue and we'll be in touch.

If you'd like to support me in any way - and I realise there are plenty other good causes that may have a claim on your wallet - either place your fixed amount of sponsorship on this website or please contact Sue Wykes, my PA, via email (sue_wykes@computacenter.com) with your name, contact details, sponsorship type and amount.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Willow Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
