Thanks for visiting my fundraising page in memory of my mum, Margaret Parr. As many of you are aware, Mum sadly passed away on 28 February 2008, almost a year since she was diagnosed with bowel cancer, which then spread to her liver. As you can imagine, the past two years have been a very difficult time for me and my family. I am therefore taking on the daunting challenge of the London Marathon as a fitting tribute to a wonderful mum, wife, daughter and friend.
I am keen to give something back for Mum and, in the spirit of her generosity, hope you will sponsor me generously for such a worthwhile, but rarely talked about, cause. I feel very proud to run the marathon for Mum and hope, with your help, to far exceed my £5,000 target for Bowel Cancer .
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bowel Cancer gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Training has gone well so far and I ran 20 miles this weekend, which is as far as I'm planning to go before the big day itself on 26th April.
Thank you so much for your support, your donation means a huge amount to me and the charity.
Cheers, Mike
