The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Throughout 2013 BBC Radio Manchester will be raising money to help cancer patients at The Christie. In addition to raising £1,000,000, The Christie and BBC Radio Manchester aim to raise further awareness of cancer and help transcend the warmth of The Christie across the region.

With your help we aim to raise vital funds to benefit cancer patients in Manchester through a new mobile chemotherapy unit that will take Christie care closer to patients' homes. Each day the mobile chemotherapy unit will travel to different areas of the Greater Manchester region to deliver first class treatment, which will save precious time and travelling costs for around 80 patients a week.

We will follow the stories of Christie patients, staff and volunteers throughout 2013 and there will be a host of fundraising events and activities for you to demonstrate your support. Together we can help make a difference to our cancer patients.
