Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On Sunday the 17th May, 2009 I'm doing the 10K Manchester Great Run in aid of Christie's.
You can read a little about Christie's just below and to the left of this text. If you're from the North West of England then you won't really need to read it as you'll already be aware of Christie's as a cancer treatment and clinical trial centre and you'll know of the great work that they do in the region.
Both the 17th May and the Christie's cause have some significance to me this year as the 17th would have been my Father's 76th birthday. He underwent some treatment late last year at The Christie hospital but, sadly, passed away just before Christmas having been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus a few months earlier.
I've been doing a bit of practising and I'm hoping to get the 10K run in around 50 minutes with a bit of a dream of trying to get to around 45 minutes ( maybe if there's a strong wind behind me? :-) )
Here comes the bit that costs you money I'm afraid...thanks a lot up front for those of you that decide to donate and any amount would be most gratefully received - it all adds up.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.
It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christie's gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
