Bowel cancer is Britain’s second biggest cancer killer and 35,500 people will be diagnosed with the disease this year.

The good news; it is one of the most curable cancers if caught early enough.

Miles was diagnosed with bowel cancer in November 2007 and he is eternally grateful for all the expertise shown to him by his brilliant surgeon, David Melville and wonderful cancer specialist, Roger Leicester. They ensured he was one of the lucky ones.

By way of celebrating the success of his new fully functional, streamlined colon, he has foolishly decided to run the 2009 London Marathon to raise as much money as he can for this very special charity, Beating Bowel Cancer, which encourages people to talk bottoms! Miles’ brother Guy has courageously agreed to run with him as this is a disease which has affected them both greatly, as their mother and grandmother both had bowel cancer as well.

We would appreciate any support you can give towards this wonderful charity, in the hope that more people can survive this terrible disease,  which over 100 people are diagnosed with in the UK every day.  The more people are aware of it, the more who will beat it.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Beating Bowel Cancer gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
