Story
This summer I am cycling to Berlin from Leeds - a 600 mile trip across three different countries!!! I have talked to many people about this challenge since September. At the time I was relatively relaxed about the scheme. The relaxation changed to denial about how hard it will actually be, it is now hitting a dull panic. For those of you who know me well I am not one for exercise, more of a walker - and some may know me as a keen free style dancer - than anything else, so I have really had to change my lifestyle. Moreover this is far and above anything which I have ever done for charity in my life. The charity that I am raising for is “Laura crane youth cancer trust”. Like everyone cancer is a problem which has indirectly affected me. This charity is a one which acts on the front lines of the disease, specifically the testicular and ovarian varieties, supporting local, to Yorkshire, young people in their personal battles. Furthermore it is now directly funding research into cures.
I have now completed a 34 mile ride on my bike and am relatively competent on the road. I still find it a challenge to ride one handed, whilst signalling at a junction, but I am improving fast. Having already crashed twice, once into a random blue doorway, I feel that my ability to bounce back from lows on the trip shall be good. I need any donations that anyone is able to provide, to get me through both the hard days of train and long journey ahead. I will continue to update you on my progress throughout my training and mid trek!!! Thank you very much!!!!
