Story

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Evelina Children's Hospital Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Hi everyone Thank you for agreeing to sponsor me.

I am running 13 miles around London to help raise money for Millie's Charity. The aim is to raise enough money to buy a new PD Machine for Evelina Childrens Hospital. These Machines help to save children's lives.

My sister Millie was diagnosed with Kidney Failure in 2006 & since then our family have been on an amazing journey. My Mum & Millie had to stay in the Evelina children's hospital for 3 months so that Millie could be put on a PD machine. This machine replaced the role of her kidney.

Whilst my Mum & Millie were away from home and the rest of our family Millie wasn't able to attend school or lead a normal life. My other brothers and sisters suffered whilst my Mum was away as she wasn't there to help look after them. This impacted the rest of the family as we all had to help to look after the other children in my Mum's absense.

At the hospital all the staff & doctors were great. My Mum learn't how to set up and work the PD machine & eventually we were able to take the machine home. This meant that the family could get back to some sort of normality.

Millie had to go on the machine for 16hours per day so she would be attached at 6pm till 8am. This meant that Millie could go to school durning the day and get to spend time with Friends & Family.

In 2007 my Mum was a live kidney donar & her & Millie had the operation for the kidney transplant. Both Mum & Millie are doing well. Millie still has medication daily and needs to drink plenty of fluid.

As you can see these PD Machine's make a big difference to people's lives. Millie wanted to raise money so that we can help other children and families like her.

YOUR SUPPORT REALLY MEANS A LOT TO US.  THANK YOU xxx
