Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Some of you may be aware that last year we took part in the inaugural Millport Multi-Event Marathon, raising £4k for charity whilst taking part in a number of events where the emphasis was on fun rather than gruelling self-flagellation.  This was inspired by how horrible it would be to run 7 successive marathons in the desert, and the thought that we could raise some cash without having to do, erm, well, much.

This year's event will again seek to raise money for SIR and for Kilbryde Hospice, which provides care to the terminally ill in Lanarkshire.  The day will have a Wild West theme, and events will include the following:

Hoedown Showdown - a line dancing competition between the 2 teams on the ferry to Millport, to be judged by fellow passengers.

Beggars Belief - which team, using any legal means, can get the most cash in their fundraising buckets by the end of the day.

Bare the Chill - which team can stay in the Firth of Clyde at shoulder depth for longest?  Cowboys are likely to be more John Wayne Bobbitt than John Wayne at the end of this one.

Saddle Up- saddle up for a piggy back relay along the beach.  Cowboy hat compulsory, use of the whip discretionary.

Kerrazy Golf - knocks the Ryder Cup into a cocked cowboy hat, with unparalleled drama unfolding on the hallowed concrete of the links course.

Rodeo Rope Ripping - er, a tug o'war.

Single Sausage Showdown - who can tame the battered beauty of the single sausage in the fastest time?  Points deducted for barfage.  All sausages sourced from the island's premier greasy chip shop, and may have been under the grill for some time.

Plays Frisbee Golf with Wolves - um, frisbee golf on the beach.  Minimal wolf involvement, to be honest.

Putt up or Shut up - putting, only with a rubbish comedy title.

It all Kicks Off - football using the traditional seaside implement of the floater, some say flyaway, 99p ball.

Earn Your Spurs - an obstacle race round a local swing park in relay format, involving donning the ceremonial garments and then making your way through the swings, slides etc as fast as possible.  Little link to the title, but hey ho.

(No) Bow and Arrows - darts, outscore your opponent with 3 thereof.

Saloon Wars - down your drink faster than your opponent to triumph.  Final rule from single sausage showdown also applies here.
