ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC

Story

Wednesday 7th October would have been Michael's 67th birthday and so an evening of celebration is planned from 5.30pm-10pm at The St Stephen's Club, London, SW1W 9AB. You will have the opportunity to share your memories and stories, and in true Michael style, Spoof, Shut the Box, Shove Ha'penny amongst others will be played under            ' contest rules !'. For further information please contact the family  hwade-mills@merchant.co.uk

After a short illness Michael died on Monday 1st June.

The funeral will be held on Monday 15th June at 1pm, at The Chilterns Crematorium, Amersham. Unsurprisingly, Michael's address book was much larger than the capacity of this venue, and so we would respectfully ask that family and close friends attend. For those who feel they may not fit into this category, there will be an opportunity for everyone to celebrate Michael's life late summer, when a huge memorial celebration is being planned.

Michael's love for his children was legendary, and as someone who was not known for charitable gestures, it may come as a surprise to learn that he had been closely involved with Childline over the past 2 years !

Giving through this site is quick and easy. Please do so in Michael's memory and know that every penny raised will help Childline to continue their wonderful work helping children in trouble and distress.
