Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Minster Law Charity Challenge page.
6 intrepid members of the Private Client department will be running the Leeds Half Marathon Corporate Relay on 9th May 2010. We are raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research, which is both the event's and Minster Law's nominated charity for 2010.
Each of the first five runners will run a 2 mile leg with changeover points at 2, 4, 6, 8and 10 miles, the sixth runner will cover the 3.1 mile distance to the finish.
To some this may seem like a short distance and to others it's a marathon in itself. Particularly as some of the team don't actually own any running shoes...!
"Yorkshire Cancer Research has been funding research into cancer in all its forms for the last 85 years and every year
we gain greater knowledge and understanding of the disease. This has led to improved patient benefits and moved us a step closer to achieving our goal, which is a world without cancer. We are an independent regional medical charity and fund internationally recognised research at universities in Bradford, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield and York. Our funding enables scientists from across the world to bring their expertise to our region and make Yorkshire their home. Over the next five years we have committed £11million to fund research across the region.
This is only possible because of the continued, generous support of the people of Yorkshire who have worked tirelessly over the years by donating their time, effort and ingenuity in order to enable us to continue our fight against cancer."
